“To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32
Truth sets you free! There is nothing like the freedom we have in Jesus. This freedom can’t be bought, worked for or obtained by status, but only by Jesus setting the mind free, delivering from the burden of sin into true liberty of righteousness and life.
God works His freedom in our life through His truth. It is a spiritual freedom which comes from abiding in His word and being His disciple. The only way we know truth is to obey it - living with it continuously so it has a permanent influence that stimulates holiness. We must daily learn to rely on His promises and obey His commands.
