“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved,
clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Bear with each other and forgive one another
if any of you has a grievance against someone.
Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
Colossians 3:12-14

In Christ, followers are loved, so God loves us not because of the things we do
or don’t do – He loves us unconditionally. He has a profoundly tender and
deep affection for us and takes great pleasure in His creation. He has a
benevolent concern for the good of His followers.
God intends for followers to live like Jesus, a model for love as servants to
one another. Jesus demonstrated love by giving His life for us, providing the
Holy Spirit as our counselor and commanding a mission to a world that needs
compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience and forgiveness to fulfill
God’s will for His people.
