IDENTITY: SANCTIFIED

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through.
May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless
at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.”
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
In Christ, followers are sanctified or saved from the power of sin.  God sees us in a progressive, gradual work beginning with dying with Christ and progressing over a lifetime to be wholly sanctified or perfect in every respect – all of you.  This is God’s work to be fulfilled in His time.

God intends to preserve His followers, changed at the core, to live blameless lives – body, soul and spirit.  He keeps us from falling short so that at the coming of Christ, the faithfulness of God is our security to persevere to the end.  We will be presented faultless, and without blame, without spot or wrinkle.
