“For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.
Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path.
For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.”

Proverbs 2:6-10
In Proverbs 2, Solomon shares how to obtain wisdom and it’s benefits. God is
the source of wisdom and it is His prerogative to open our understanding and
bestow His free gift. We are encouraged to search after wisdom diligently.
Sound wisdom is found in Christ where all the treasures of wisdom and
knowledge are hidden.
Solomon reveals insight into obtaining personal wisdom and its benefits.
First we need to accept the word of God as the standard of wisdom and
understanding. Next listen to it closely and apply our hearts to receiving all
of it - the commandments as well as the promises. Prayer is an integral part of
asking and listening for understanding. Believers need not only to search for
this treasure, but hide His word in our hearts so we are always ready to use it
and share with others. If we depend on God and seek His wisdom, He will take
care of us and give satisfaction, happiness and comfort. Wisdom affects every
area of our lives from the inside out. Once it enters our hearts by faith, it
influences our actions and encourages the best principles with the best motives
and the best views.
