“Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
In Proverbs 3, Solomon encourages a life of wisdom with its benefits and action. It is an exhortation to be consistent, trust God, fear God, honor God, serve God and do good to be blessed and to be a blessing. We are to keep His word in our hearts along with love and faithfulness to win favor with God and man.and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
Proverbs 3:5-6 emphasises trust in the Lord at all times as true wisdom and acknowledgement as seeking His wise assistance. Trust should be with all the heart, cordial and sincere. Trust means not depending on self-confidence, but observing every step and not acting without his advice by prayer and consulting His word. He is our guide and we must submit to His sovereignty. Trust and rely on God’s promises for spiritual blessings, grace and eternal happiness. He will do what is best for us when we love and serve Him.
Wisdom affects our inward desires, relationship with God and the way we interact with others. It is everlasting and to find it gives us happiness, peace, honor and contentment that even in God’s discipline, He loves us and will be at our side forever.
