The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,

Proverbs 9:9-10
In Proverbs 9, Solomon shows the contrast between wisdom and folly. It shows
true wisdom and its advantages contrasted with the description of the foolish.
Solomon calls believers to choose a life of wisdom and blessing guided by
reverence for the Lord. It is also a crossroad - the end of the introductory section
of Proverbs.
Proverbs 9:9-10 reveals that the more a wise man learns, the more he loves wisdom.
Reproof, correction, and instruction make believers better. Knowledge gives proper
perception. Awe and reverence, joined with love produces trust in Jesus Christ and
a desire to serve and worship Him. The advantages of wisdom are it contributes to
and maintains our spiritual life plus contributes health to our physical bodies.
