“The words of the mouth are deep waters,
but the fountain of wisdom is a rushing stream.”
Proverbs 18:4
but the fountain of wisdom is a rushing stream.”
Proverbs 18:4
In Proverbs 18, Solomon identifies wisdom in getting along with others and the
influence of the tongue. He contrasts the wise with fools, righteous with wicked
and the heart with the mouth. The wise seek wisdom with all their being - their
heart and ears are always in pursuit of more wisdom!
In Proverbs 18:4, Solomon indicates that wise sayings come from a never failing source and are never exhausted, but are pure and fresh. Wisdom in the heart of a believer continually supplies words of wisdom. This wisdom is communicated liberally to others, ministering grace and for edification. Wise speech is like an exhaustless stream of benefit.
