IDENTITY: FREED

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free
from the law of sin and of death.
For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do:
by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh,
and to deal with sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,
so that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us,
who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”
Romans 8:1-4
In Christ, followers are freed from condemnation and from the law of sin and death.  God see us as acquitted - set free from sin’s penalty and power plus we are assured that we will not be condemned at the judgement.  Followers are justified or freed from sin’s penalty by grace through Jesus Christ.

God intends for followers to walk according to the Spirit not the flesh.  Reliance
on the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit gives us new life to overcome
judgement and sin in daily life.  Followers grow in obedience and holiness plus
are increasingly distinguished by the fruit of the Spirit.
