“The way of fools seems right to them,
but the wise listen to advice.”
Proverbs 12:15
but the wise listen to advice.”
Proverbs 12:15
In Proverbs 12, Solomon shows the contrast between the wise and the fool.
In revealing wisdom, righteousness, and truth as benefits, he reveals in
opposition the disadvantages of fools, the wicked and lying.
In Proverbs 12:15, fools do what is right in their own eyes in contrast to a
wise person who understands it is helpful to get another set of “eyes.” Fools
have a high opinion of themselves in contrast to the wise person who
distrust their own judgement. Fools neglect and despise the advice of others
in contrast to the wise person who is willing to be advised, either by the
council of others or by consulting the word of God for guidance. The wise
not only seek advice, they take it.
