WISDOM - Proverbs 15

The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge,
but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.
The lips of the wise spread knowledge,
but the hearts of fools are not upright.”
Proverbs 15:2,7
In Proverbs 15, Solomon addresses the knowledge and words of the wise.  He emphasises the wise seek knowledge, use knowledge and spread knowledge.  Knowledge is knowing what to say and wisdom is knowing when to say it. Wise men submit to God, search the scriptures, plus carefully and humbly hear and consider knowledge before answering.

In Proverbs 15:2, the wise not only have knowledge, but they use it for the edification and instruction of others. Their words demonstrate their wisdom by taking care what, when, to whom and in what manner they speak to make it acceptable to others.  They are ministers of the word to the usefulness and profit of others.

In Proverbs 15:7, the wise disperse or spread knowledge with humility and prudence.  They teach so that others teach and knowledge is scattered and souls are fed. They freely communicate what they know and take advantage of every opportunity, following the leading of the Holy Spirit.
